A lot of people think of retirement as a way to get away from work and only do what they want. Some of them, though, find that they are bored with doing nothing, or that they don’t have the kind of income to do what they really want to do. With that in mind, you can make some great retirement income. Retiring from the workplace can be a great beginning for a new career – and a career that you’ll actually enjoy. You can set up your own online business and you’ll be able to work from home or wherever you like, on your own schedule. You retired to get away from the 9 to 5, so you definitely don’t want to start up another one!

 Retirement income as an entrepreneur who runs a home based business, though, is completely different from working a full time job. A lot of baby boomers are retiring and starting up their own businesses, and many more are thinking about doing it when they retire. Along with all of those baby boomers, you can build retirement income for yourself and have more money to leave to your children with a home based business. You shouldn’t expect to become an entrepreneur and expect to get rich overnight, though, because that’s not realistic. Having an Internet business should be seen as a way to supplement the pension that you have after retirement. Some people do end up wealthy from working at a home based business, but most individuals don’t see that kind of return.

 They do, however, see their retirement income supplemented with their home based business and they enjoy their work as an entrepreneur. Those are two things that are very important to the baby boomers, because they want to make more money but they don’t want to have to keep working for someone else – that’s why they retired in the first place. Don’t feel like you have to have a ‘real job’ in retirement to supplement your retirement income. You can do it more easily and in a much more enjoyable way as an entrepreneur of a home based business.
